The McHenry County Sheriff's Office is committed to maintaining
optimum standards, providing the citizens of McHenry County with a
strong and well-prepared law enforcement agency. As a result, the
department was awarded accreditation by the Commission on
Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) in March of
2011. To do so, the Sheriff's office was required to meet standards
addressing nine major law enforcement areas:
- Role, responsibilities, and relationships
- Organization, management, and administration
- Personnel structure
- Personnel process
- Operations
- Operation support
- Traffic operations
- Detainee and court-related activities
- Auxiliary and technical services
We are very proud of our deputies and our department for this
accomplishment.
