Press Release- Small Plane Crashes at Galt Airport

A 42-year-old Fox Lake man sustained non-life-threatening injuries after a small plane crashed in unincorporated Greenwood Saturday morning.

 At 10:36 a.m. on June 16th, 2018, members of the Hebron Alden Greenwood Fire Protection District, Wonder Lake Fire Protection District, Woodstock Fire Rescue, and Mercy Health Field Physician along with the McHenry County Sheriff's Office responded to Galt Airport, located at 5112 Greenwood Road, for a small plane that had crashed.

 Preliminary investigation revealed the 42-year-old man was piloting an Air-Cam with a 15-year-old juvenile passenger when for unknown reasons shortly after take-off the plane crashed.

The pilot was transported by Flight for Life to Advocate Condell Hospital in Libertyville with non-life-threatening injuries.  The juvenile passenger was checked by emergency medical staff at the scene and was not transported.

 The investigation is ongoing by the Federal Aviation Administration.
