Press Release- Sheriff’s Office Investigates Fatal Motorcycle Crash

A 43-year-old Harvard man has died as a result of a single motorcycle crash that occurred in unincorporated Wonder Lake Wednesday evening.

  At 7:39 p.m., on September 25, 2019, McHenry County Sheriff's Office Deputies and Wonder Lake Fire Protection District personnel responded to the scene of a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Hancock Drive and East Lake Shore Drive in Wonder Lake.

  Preliminary investigation indicated that a 2001 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Motorcycle was traveling westbound on Hancock Drive.  For unknown reasons the driver lost control of the motorcycle and it was driven off of the road onto the unpaved median at the intersection.  The driver of the motorcycle was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced deceased on scene.

  The driver was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.  The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff's Office Major Crash Investigation Unit and the McHenry County Coroner's Office.
