Press Release- Crystal Lake Man Arrested on Drug Charges

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Task Force arrested Daniel Hawkins, 27, of Crystal Lake late last week following a month-long investigation after receiving numerous complaints of drug dealing at Hawkins's residence.

On May 3, members of the Task Force arrested Hawkins on an arrest warrant and subsequently served a search warrant at his residence located in the 1700 block of Somerfield Lane in Crystal Lake. Task Force members began an investigation which surfaced, among other things, a Snapchat video depicting Hawkins making threats against law enforcement.

At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives seized approximately 8.6 grams of cocaine; 10 Cannabis plants; 10.46 grams of Cannabis wax; 1 Ecstasy pill; over 200 rounds of ammunition; drug paraphernalia; and $1,393 in cash.  The estimated street value of the illegal drugs seized is $1,000.

Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of an offender(s).

The charges against this individual is merely allegations against him. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
